Ohio Adds Two Interns

Ohio University Athletics has announced that Dusty Nielsen and Lindsey Wyckoff have been named Media Relations Interns for the 2006-07 academic year. They will begin their 10-month appointments on August 1.

Both will serve as the primary media contact for multiple teams in the Bobcats' 20-sport athletic program.

"We're very pleased that Dusty and Lindsey have decided to join our staff," Director of Media Relations Brian Gunning said. "They both have a tremendous of amount of experience at such an early stage in their careers, and they both show a real desire to not only work, but excel in athletic media relations."

Nielsen graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in print journalism. He worked as a student assistant in the Blugold's sports information office for three years. Nielsen also worked as the Sports Information Director for the Wisconsin Woodchucks baseball team, a member of the Northwoods League, for two seasons. He served as the team's primary media contact and the color analyst on all home radio broadcasts for the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

Wyckoff recently graduated from Bloomsburg University with a degree in mass communications. She worked as a student assistant in the sports information office for three years while also competing in tennis for the Huskies. She helped the squad to three straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships and three trips to the round of sixteen in the NCAA Division II Championship. This past season, Wyckoff served as the primary media contact for the Huskies' Division I wrestling team. She has been a four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and served as Vice President of the school's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America in 2005-06. In the summer of 2005, Wyckoff completed an internship in the public relations department at the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats.
