Laubscher Named ODAC SID of the Year

Washington & Lee University's Brian Laubscher was named the 2006 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Sports Information Director of the Year, as voted on by the leagues head sports information professionals.

Laubscher has been the sports information director at Washington & Lee University the last eight years, directly responsible for the promotion of the Generals highly successful 23-sport Division III athletic program. He is the sports editor of the W&L Alumni Magazine and the coordinator of the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association College Division All-State football team. Laubscher also serves the conference as the secretary of the ODAC sports information directors.

Laubscher worked as an athletic communication assistant at Division I Lafayette College before starting at Washington & Lee University, and also completed internships with James Madison University and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. He graduated in August of 1995 with a degree in sports management from Slippery Rock University, and worked as a graduate assistant at California University of Pennsylvania.

Laubscher is the second recipient of the award, as Guilford Colleges Dave Walters was the inaugural winner in 2005.
