Clawson Promoted by William & Mary
Williams & Mary Sports Information Director Pete Clawson has been promoted to the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations.
This promotion recognizes the progress the sports information department has made under Petes leadership, said Director of Athletics Terry Driscoll. He has expanded their activities while improving on the quality and quantity of the work the department produces.
Clawson, a 1990 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, has spent the previous 10 years working in the Colleges sports in-formation office, including the last six in his current position. As the director, Clawson oversaw all workings of the department and was the primary contact for the Tribes nationally-recognized football and mens gymnastics programs.
Prior to his stint at W&M, Clawson was an assistant at Fresno State where he was responsible for all interviews and practice coverage for the football team, as well as serving as the primary media contact for the wrestling and track and field teams. Clawson has also spent time as an assistant at his alma mater and at Florida, where he was primary contact for all electronic media interviews for the Gators nationally-ranked football program.
