Cal Adds Three in Media Relations

The University of California has added three new employees to the media relations staff, associate athletic director Kevin Klintworth has announced. Joining the athletic department are John Sudsbury as assistant media relations director, and Tim Miguel and Anton Malko as media relations assistants.

Sudsbury, who will be working primarily with the Cal football team, comes to Berkeley after spending the past seven years at Tulane, where he served as the associate director of media relations.  Before that, Sudsbury was the Director of Sports Information at Hartford (1999-2000) and Adelphia (1997-1998).  Sudsbury graduated from New Hampshire in 1993 and served as an assistant SID following graduation.

Miguel graduated from San Diego State in 2005.  He was a student intern for the media relations staff last year in San Diego and was the SID for the womens golf team.  He was a staff writer for the school newspaper, The Daily Aztec, for three years as well as a contributing writer for the San Diego Union Tribune in the fall of 2004. He was part of the media relations operations for the 2006 NCAA Mens Basketball Division I Championship held at San Diego States Cox Arena.

Malko, a graduate of Connecticut College, joins the department full-time after assisting the development office and serving as SID for rugby during the winter and spring. He was the Director of Communications at The Birch Wathen Lenox School in New York City from 2003-2005. Prior to that he was a content manager at The Princeton Review from 2000-2002 and a regional editor at Professional Sports Publications from 1997-2000.
