Ryan McGinty has been named the new sports information director for Grambling State University.
McGinty has been an assistant sports information director at Prairie View A&M the last four years.
He served as sports editor of The Angleton Times - a now-defunct daily in Brazoria County, Texas - from 2001-02 and previously worked as a general assignment reporter for The Fort Bend (Texas) Southwest Sun. McGinty holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Prairie View.
He replaces Peter Forest, who left Grambling at the conclusion of the 2005 football season.
