Two Positions Filled at Coastal Carolina

Coastal Carolina University has named Lindsay Choules and Amanda Kennedy as Athletic Media Relations Assistants for the 2006-07 year, Assistant AD for Media Relations John Martin announced today. Their appointments are effective immediately.
 
Choules joins the staff after finishing her undergraduate degree in business administration at the University of Mississippi this past spring. While at Ole Miss, she worked in the Athletic Media Relations Office for three years as a student assistant. She served as student assistant to the women's basketball contact and assisted with a variety of office and game day events. She also worked at the 2005 and 2006 Southeastern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament, as well as the 2005 and 2006 Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship. She also has volunteered with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mississippi and Special Olympics during college.
 
Kennedy spent the last year earning her master's in sports management at West Virginia University. While there, she worked with the Sports Information Department as a student worker, as well as working with the Mountaineer Athletic Club. At WVU, she worked primarily with baseball, as well as assisting with basketball and soccer. Prior to that, Kennedy was a four-year letterwinner in field hockey at Lynchburg College, earning her bachelor's in communications in 2005 and working for two years in the Sports Information Office.
 
Coastal Carolina University captured the 2005-06 Sasser Cup, honors the top overall athletic department in the Big South Conference. The award is based on a point system, with points being awarded based upon each schools finish in each of the 18 league-sponsored sports. Last season, the Chanticleers won their eighth Sasser Cup award, the most earned by one school in Big South history, on the strength of eight Big South team championships.
