Klintworth Named Assoc. AD at Oklahoma State

Kevin Klintworth has been named Oklahoma State's Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations, Mike Holder, OSU's Vice President for Athletic Programs and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics announced.

Klintworth is a graduate of Oklahoma State and Mannford High School. He will return to Stillwater from the University of California, Berkeley, where he currently serves as Associate Athletic Director for Communications. Fifty-six Cal athletes earned All-America honors in 2005-06.

"Kevin brings a strong track record to the position, Holder said. He provides the best of both worlds. He is an Oklahoma State graduate with an appreciation of our history and traditions. He has also been successful at several different levels and can bring a bit of an outside perspective to our operation."

Prior to Cal, Klintworth spent six years as Associate Athletic Director at San Diego State University. During his stay in San Diego, he served as media coordinator for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament as well as the NCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship. Both of those events were held at San Diego State's Cox Arena.

From 1996 to 1999, he was Sports Information Director at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. During that time, NAU won two Big Sky Conference all-sports trophies. Klintworth began his career in athletics at Kansas State University, where he spent four years as Assistant Sports Information Director for the Wildcats.

During the course of his career, Klintworth has received several publications honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America and he has been honored for feature writing.

I'm looking forward to completing the move and getting started, Klintworth said. The University of California is a wonderful place and we have enjoyed tremendous success here. But this is clearly a special time in OSU's history and I am honored to be a part of it.
