Jason Baum has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Football Media and Public Relations at Rutgers University, Director of Athletics Robert E. Mulcahy III announced.
Baum comes to Rutgers after serving the past four years in the sports information office at the University of Central Florida. After working three years as the Assistant Sports Information Director in the UCF office, Baum was elevated to Associate Sports Information Director coordinating all media services for the Golden Knights football and baseball programs. During his tenure at UCF, Baum served as the primary media relations contact for the football program, which included the hiring of head coach George OLeary and UCFs first bowl game appearance last season.
Baum has more than eight years of media relations experience, having previously served in the University of Maryland and West Virginia University sports information offices. During his time at Maryland, Baum helped coordinate the media services of the Terrapin football teams 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference championship and trip the Orange Bowl.
A native York, PA, Baum will handle all the media services directly related to the Rutgers football team along with additional administrative responsibilities.
