I've been in sports information for almost 20 years. Maybe this
has happened before but I have never heard of it: a grandfather coaching
his grandson.
Jerry Hampton is our men's and women's tennis coach here at
Graceland. He has been coaching here since the late '50s. He coached his
daughter and son-in-law in college and now he has a grandson on the squad.
Brett Waite recently won the NAIA ITA Central Regional championship this
past weekend. Anyone else ever heard of a grandfather-grandson combo?
