Kyle Cottam has been named assistant sports information director at Southern Utah University.
For Cottam, a native of Salt Lake City, the position at Southern Utah was a chance to return to the Beehive State. He joins the athletic department after serving as an assistant sports information
director at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind.
While with the Sycamores, Cottam promoted and worked with each of the 14 intercollegiate
sports and served as the Media Relations chair for the 2006 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Cottam earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in public relations while serving as the sports information contact for the men's and women's swimming and diving program. He is married to the former Meaghan Soderstrom, also from Salt Lake.
"It is great to be back home and have the opportunity to promote SUU," Cottam said. "This was a great fit for myself and for my family and look forward to the experiences that are ahead of me here in Cedar City."
