York College (N.Y.) Appoints Scarinci Sports Information Director

York College (N.Y.) has announced the hiring of John Scarinci as their Sports Information Director.

“As York College searched for its first Sports Information Director, we were fortunate to have found John Scarinci, someone who has a true passion for his field,” said York College Athletic Director Ronald St. John.

Scarinci comes to York after spending two years as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information and Marketing Office at Bloomsburg University (PA). While at Bloomsburg, Scarinci took on all the key aspects of a sports information office, including the design of media guides and game programs, gameday management, promotions, web site maintenance and the writing of post-game releases. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from Bloomsburg in 2007.

Scarinci has also been employed by several other major sports organizations, including MLB.Com and CBS Sports. He also spent time as a writer for Newsday’s Impulse! Review Crew in 2005.

Scarinci earned his bachelor’s degree in communication arts in 2004 from Molloy College (NY), where he was a four-year member of the baseball team. He ranks second on the school’s all-time list in career wins.
