Prisco Named Assistant Director of Athletics Media Services at Campbell University

Campbell University today announced the hiring of Joe Prisco as assistant director of athletics media services.

Prisco joins Campbell after spending the last four months at the University of Northern Colorado as an assistant media relations director. Prior to that, he spent a year at the University of Notre Dame as a sports information assistant and two years at Coastal Carolina University as a media relations assistant.

Also in his background is a year at Saint Xavier University as a volunteer assistant and a summer working for the Thomasville Hi-Toms as an assistant general manager.

“I’m really looking forward to this new chapter in my life,” Prisco stated. “Campbell University is a great institution. All the coaches and the staff I’ve met are enthusiastic about the school and I can’t wait to be a part of it all.”

A native of Evergreen Park, Ill., Prisco completed both his B.S. in speech communication and M.S. in sports administration from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. While attending EIU, he spent four years working in the sports information office while also working for the campus radio station.

He will serve as the primary media contact for women’s basketball and football, as well as overseeing the department’s web site (www.GoCamels.com).

Campbell University competes in the NCAA Division I Atlantic Sun Conference in 17 sports as well as associate members of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association for womens’ swimming and Colonial Athletic Association for wrestling. Campbell will resume varsity football competition in 2008.

Prisco fills the position left by Adam Prendergast, who resigned in August in order to take the Director of Media Relations position at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
