CoSIDA membership approved an amendment to its constitution to add an executive director to its leadership at its annual business meeting on July 3 in San Diego. The amendment passed with a near-unanimous vote of all present at the meeting. The search process will begin shortly with a nine-member search committee put in place by the CoSIDA Board in San Diego.
The search committee consists of past presidents Langston Rogers (Ole Miss), Pete Moore (Syracuse) and Ed Carpenter (Boston Univ.); CoSIDA treasurer Dave Wohlhueter (Cornell); university division members Carol Hudson (Old Dominion), Judy Willson (Louisiana-Monroe) and Justin Doherty (Wisconsin); college division members Eric McDowell (Union) and Blake Timm (Pacific).
The goal for the search process is to have an executive director in place by March 1, 2008.
Along with being the administrator for CoSIDA, the executive director would be charged with creating a long-term strategic plan for CoSIDA as well as representing the organization at other national conventions, including NACDA and NCAA, as well as both games, national championship games and other events. The position would also work at developing relationships with potential corporate sponsors, peer leaders of other athletics organizations and other important contacts.
The executive director would report to the CoSIDA Board of Directors.
