Southeastern Promotes Chapple to Associate Director for Media Relations

Southeastern Louisiana University Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann announced Friday that Kemmler Chapple has been promoted to Associate Director for Media Relations.

The appointment of Chapple, a Hammond resident and 2002 Southeastern graduate, is pending approval from the Board of Supervisors of the University of Louisiana System.

In his fifth year in the Southeastern Athletic Media Relations Department, Chapple previously served as Assistant Sports Information Director serving as the primary contact for women's basketball, soccer, softball and men's and women's tennis.

In his new role, Chapple will continue his day-to-day work with basketball, soccer and tennis while adding baseball, serving as the secondary contact for the Southeastern football team and editor of the Southeastern Football Gameday Magazine.

Prior to joining the media relations staff on a full-time basis in 2003, Chapple worked as a graduate assistant in the Sports Information Office for one year while also working as a student assistant.

Chapple earned his bachelor's degree in mass communication in 2002 and his master's degree in organizational communication from the University in 2006.
