Seeking CoSIDA Executive Director
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) seeks a qualified individual to fill its newly created, full-time executive director position.
The successful candidate will have: 1) at least 10 years experience in sports information, marketing, athletic administration or a related field; 2) a bachelor's degree; 3) proven fund-raising ability; 4) proven organizational and planning (strategic and event) skills; 5) willingness to work from home.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: serve as the full-time senior administrator for CoSIDA; work closely with the CoSIDA Board of Directors, as well as the marketing director and online services director; serve as organization's spokesperson; responsible for overseeing development of long and short-range planning, policies and procedures (strategic planning); oversee fund-raising efforts for CoSIDA; oversight and management of CoSIDA's budget in conjunction with treasurer; assist in management of CoSIDA's Academic All-America program; maintain a working knowledge of significant industry developments and trends that affect the members of CoSIDA; represent CoSIDA within the college athletics world at meetings, functions and events involving all varieties and divisions of institutions; heavy involvement in the planning of the annual CoSIDA Workshop; timely communication to CoSIDA membership via e-mail or publication; travel as warranted; oversight of the CoSIDA Web site and CoSIDA Digest; become an effective liaison to national governing bodies (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, etc.)on legislation that affects sports information/athletic media relations; work to secure positive publicity of the sports information profession and its duties in the mainstream and college sports media.
