Trivitt Promoted to Full-Time Position within ISU Athletics

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State University Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Todd Kober announced Monday that Keith Trivitt has been promoted to assistant media relations director after working the last 17 months in the office as a graduate assistant. Trivitt replaces Brett McWethy, who left for a similar position at Northern Illinois.

“I have had a number of talented graduate assistants since my return to Illinois State, but none has had the level of impact that Keith has had,” said Kober. “I expect Keith to have a seamless transition from a graduate assistant to full-time position, and I’m really looking forward to the mark he will continue to leave on this office and athletics department over time.”

Trivitt is looking forward to the new challenge.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to become a full-time member of the Illinois State Athletic Media Relations staff,” said Trivitt. “During my year-and-a-half as a graduate assistant, I came to understand just how special Illinois State and the Bloomington-Normal community are. This is a tremendous opportunity for me, both professionally and personally, and I look forward to contributing to the athletics department and the university in the years to come.”

Over the last five months, Trivitt has overseen production and content for GoRedbirds.com, the official Web site of Illinois State Athletics. He has also served as the primary media contact for the Redbird softball team and has been the secondary contact for Redbird football during the 2008 season. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management from Illinois State.

Trivitt joined the ISU Athletics Media Relations Office in June 2007, after working three years as a student assistant at Truman State. With the Bulldogs, Trivitt served as the media contact for both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, while also serving as a game statistician for football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. He graduated from TSU in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science/sport and recreation management.

During the summer of 2006, Trivitt worked as a sales associate for the then-Swing of the Quad Cities, the low-Class A baseball affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The summer before, the Springfield, Mo., native, worked with his hometown team, the Springfield Cardinals, the Class AA affiliate of the Cardinals.
