Salyer Named IPFW's Assistant Director of Athletic Media Services

Bill Salyer has been hired as the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Services at IPFW. He will be the primary media contact for the Mastodon women’s volleyball, women’s basketball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s golf squads.

Prior to coming to IPFW, Salyer was the Director of Athletic Communications at Allegheny (Pa.) College, in Meadville, Pa. While at Allegheny, he was the primary media contact for 21 varsity sports. He was also a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee as the District II coordinator for women’s volleyball and women’s at-large.

Before taking the position at Allegheny, he served as the Wilmington (Ohio) College Sports Information Director from 2001 until 2005, where he was the primary media contact for the Quakers’ 21 varsity sports. While at Wilmington, he helped publicize and host numerous NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2003-04 Lady Quaker women’s basketball National Championship.

"We had a large and talented applicant pool," IPFW Director of Athletic Media Services Rudy Yovich said. "Bill had outstanding credentials and came very highly recommended by his peers. He will be a great fit within our department."

Salyer is a 2001 graduate of Wilmington, where he earned a degree in sports management while picking up a minor in business administration.

He, his wife Tisa and son Liam currently reside in Milford, Indiana.
