COSIDA OFFICER’S CALL MINUTES - May 20, 2008 President Charles Bloom did a roll call.

I. There was discussion about the Academic All-America program.

II. There was discussion of the Academic All-America Hall of Fame. Lipe is developing an itinerary. Justin Doherty is coordinating the creation of the video presentation with University of Wisconsin personnel but said he had not received materials from some of the honorees.  Doug Dull has written the script and Dick Enberg will do voice-overs. Dick Lipe is also drafting the release on the announcement of the honorees.

III. Humenik said that he and Treasurer Dave Wohlhueter will meet Wednesday with CoSIDA’s lawyer in regards to possibly forming an Academic All-America Foundation.

IV. There was discussion of possible emcees for the Academic All-America presentation.

V. The board noted that in CoSIDA correspondence, the annual summer meeting is referred to as both the CoSIDA Convention and the CoSIDA Workshop. It was decided that future listings or mentions would be COSIDA CONVENTION.

VI. Nick Joos gave an update on the Convention program and said all he was lacking was a couple of moderators.

VII. Justin Doherty reviewed the Convention social schedule. He said softball and basketball venues had been nailed down and that participants could sign up at the Convention. Golf will be at MacDill Air Base.

VIII. Doherty said the Tampa Bay Rays would need a commitment from CoSIDA at least two weeks before the Convention for at least 20 people or more to offer a group discount for the Wednesday game during the Convention.

IX. He said $19,650 had been donated for breakfast sponsorships and he said he had also received plenty of door prizes. He also that buses for any events would run $515 each.

X. There was discussion of farewell party options.

XI. The Tampa Tourism will place a Welcome sign at the airport for the CoSIDA Convention on Friday and Saturday.

XII. Humenik said there were two companies interested in making proposals to handle CoSIDA’s on-line registration process for future workshops. He said he would like to have them both make presentations on a conference call prior to the Tampa Convention.

XIII. Director of Marketing Ed Carpenter said he would like to discuss the CoSIDA logo contest but would wait until the June 5th call to talk to the full board.
