Dayton Adds Warren to Athletics Communications Office

DAYTON - The University of Dayton Division of Athletics announced the addition of Assistant Director of Athletics Communication Krystal Warren on Friday. Warren comes to UD with six years of experience in Athletics Communication and will serve as the primary contact for the Flyer women's soccer, men's soccer and softball programs.

"Krystal was chosen from one of the most talented groups of applicants that we have ever had for an opening in our office," Associate Athletics Director Mike Kelly said. "Her experience in the field of Athletics Communication and working with the media in the Dayton area will make her a great fit with our already talented group here at UD."

Warren has spent five of the last six years as the Director of Sports Information at her alma mater, Urbana University. While at Urbana, she coordinated the publicity efforts for all 14 of the Blue Knights' athletics programs while also designing media guides, keeping live statistics at home events and updating the athletics department web page.

Warren first started working in the office as an undergraduate student at Urbana and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with an emphasis in Journalism in 2000. Following graduation she spent two years as a sports writer for the Piqua Daily Call where she covered high school, MLS and LPGA events while also serving as a copy editor.

Warren returned to her alma mater in 2002 to serve as Director of Sports Information for four years before heading south as the Associate Director of Athletics Communication at the University of Cincinnati for the 2006-2007 academic year. While at UC, she served as a primary contact for the Bearcat women's basketball team and also designed game programs for the Bearcat men's and women's basketball home games. She then returned to Urbana as Director of Sports Information for one year.

"I am ecstatic to join the distinguished Athletics Communication staff at the University of Dayton. It is a great feeling to be a part of a team, working together to promote the University and its excellent student athletes," said Warren. "I would like to thank Mike Kelly and the UD administration for this wonderful opportunity."
