GRAND FORKS, N.D.--University of North Dakota director of athletics Brian Faison announced today that Christy Kramer has been hired as assistant director of media relations, effective immediately.

Kramer will serve as the primary media relations contact for UND women’s basketball, volleyball and either baseball or softball, according to UND athletic media relations director Dan Benson.

“Christy has done an outstanding job at both St. Cloud State and UNC Greensboro,” said Benson. “She will be an excellent addition to our media relations staff.”

Kramer comes to UND after spending the 2007-08 season as a media relations intern at the University of North Carolina Greensboro, where she was the primary contact for baseball, wrestling and women’s soccer.

Prior to that, Kramer was a media relations graduate assistant at St.Cloud State University in 2006-07. While at SCSU, Kramer served as the primary media relations contact for baseball, swimming and diving and track and field.

A native of Fort Pierre, S.D., Kramer received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State in 2003 and a master’s degree in mass communications from SCSU in 2007. She is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
