Erik Kaminski Named Mercyhurst Assistant SID

Erie, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College athletic department has named Erik Kaminski the assistant director of sports information, effective July 7. He replaces Ethan Hulsey, who was named the director of sports information at Millersville University in June.

Kaminski comes to Mercyhurst after working for the past two years as a graduate assistant at NCAA Division I Robert Morris University, where he received his master’s degree in instructional leadership. He was the sports information contact for men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and women’s ice hockey.

Prior to his time at Robert Morris, Kaminski spent a year as an assistant in the sports information department at NCAA Division III Goucher College, where he focused on the publicity of the school’s lacrosse programs. Prior to that time, he was a sports information assistant at Saint Vincent College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in communications in May of 2005 and served as the sports information contact for lacrosse and soccer.

“Erik has experience at all three levels of the NCAA,” Sports Information Director Jason Knavel said. “It will be great to have his perspective in the department. As well, he is very familiar with our women’s hockey program since our team plays in the same conference as Robert Morris.”

Kaminski has also volunteered with the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition and served as a staff assistant at the 2005 Senior PGA Championship at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa.
