O'Brien Named Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Towson University
TOWSON, Md. – Megan O’Brien, who has spent the last two years as a sports information intern at Johns Hopkins University, has been named as Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Towson University, it has been announced by Assistant Athletics Director Peter Schlehr.
O’Brien will be the primary contact for the Tigers’ field hockey, volleyball, women’s basketball and softball teams.
A 2004 graduate of York College, O’Brien served as the primary contact for 10 of the Blue Jays’ 26 teams during her two-year tenure. She served as the primary contact for the Blue Jays’ baseball team, which advanced to the NCAA Division III Championship Game this past Spring.
Prior to joining the Blue Jays’ staff, O’Brien completed a one-year internship in the University of Delaware Athletic Media Relations office. She was the primary contact for four teams, including the Blue Hens’ women’s basketball team, which advanced to the Women’s Postseason NIT.
During her undergraduate career at York, she served as a student intern in the Spartans’ Sports Information Office.
O’Brien will begin her duties on July 7.
