College Sports Information Directors of America

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Richard Linares has been named assistant sports information director at Mount Olive, it was announced Tuesday. Linares will serve under sixth-year sports information director David Shulimson.

Linares earned a degree in sports management from Radford University, where he interned in the athletics media relations office. He was founder and president of the Radford men’s basketball club team and served as a practice player for the varsity women’s basketball team. He was also an official for Radford’s intramural program.

Outside of school, Linares volunteered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the New River Valley in Christiansburg, Va. He also served as an instructor for a local after-school program.

Linares will assist with the publicity, record-keeping and staffing for all of Mount Olive’s 16 NCAA Division II sports.
