10.23.2009-Has any school inducted a female student-athlete into its athletic hall of fame prior to 1978? Wayne State inducted female Olympic fencer Paula Sweeney into its hall of fame in 1978.
In 1978, Wayne State inducted former Olympic fencer Paula Sweeney into its Athletic Hall of Fame, possibly being the first NCAA institution to induct a women into its athletic HOF. Has any other had a female inductee earlier than 1978 into a combine (male/female) athletic Hall of Fame?
