TOWSON, Md. - Record-setting quarterback Tim Tebow of number one-ranked Florida and wide receiver Beau Kildow of seventh-ranked Morningside College (Iowa) headline the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football Teams, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Tebow and Kildow have been chosen as the winners of the Academic All-America® of the Year award in the University and College Divisions, respectively. The winner of the Academic All-America® of the Year for the second year in a row, Tebow is the first Scholar-Athlete to be named as the Academic All-America® of the Year for University Division Football in two consecutive years.

University Division Academic All-America® honors

The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team has three Scholar-Athletes with perfect 4.0 G.P.A.’s. There are six graduate students, 14 seniors and four juniors on the first team. The 24 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.79.

A four-year starter for the Gators, Tebow is putting the finishing touches on a remarkable college career. He has led Florida to two national championships and a four-year record of 46-7. As a freshman, he quarterbacked Florida to a 13-1 record and a 41-14 victory over Ohio State in the national championship game. A leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy, he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team for the third straight year.
 
After guiding the Gators to a 9-4 record as a sophomore, he quarterbacked Florida to a 13-1 record last season, including a win over Oklahoma in the national championship game. In his senior season, he has led the number one-ranked Gators to an 11-0 record. Florida currently owns the nation’s longest winning streak at 21 consecutive games. In 2009, he has thrown for 1,945 yards with 14 touchdown passes. He has run for 706 yards and scored 11 TD’s.

A family, youth & communication studies major with a 3.66 grade point average (GPA), Tebow became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy in 2007. A three-time All-American quarterback, he also won the Davey O’Brien Award and the Maxwell Award as a sophomore. In his sophomore year, he set an NCAA record by rushing for 23 touchdowns.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Tebow has passed for 8,335 yards in his career. He has thrown 81 touchdown passes with only 15 interceptions and rushed for 2,562 yards and scored 54 touchdowns in his career. The Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2008, Tebow has set four NCAA records, 10 SEC records and 24 school records.

Tebow is one of five repeat selections on the 24-member ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team. Junior running back Kyle Minett of South Dakota State, senior defensive lineman Brandon Wingeier (Dayton), senior linebacker Josh Hull (Penn State) and senior defensive back Beau Hadley (Weber State) were also selected to the first team for the second consecutive year.

An environmental systems engineering major with a 3.56 GPA, Hull is one of three Penn State Scholar-Athletes to be named to the first team. A pair of Penn State offensive linemen, graduate student Andrew Pitz and junior Stefen Wisniewski joined Hull on the first team.

Undefeated Texas, the third-ranked team in the nation, was the only other school with multiple selections on the first team. Graduate student Adam Ulatowski, an offensive lineman, and junior defensive lineman Sam Acho represented Texas on the first team.

Senior Andre Anderson of Tulane joined Minett as the running backs on the first team while graduate student Zeke Markshausen of Northwestern and senior Blair White (Michigan State) are the wide receivers. Senior tight end Colin Peek of undefeated Alabama was also named to the first team. Senior Jim McKenzie (Syracuse) and junior Andrew Jackson (Fresno State) complete the offensive line.

Senior Jacob Kragt of Eastern Washington and Adam Rundh (Valparaiso) joined Acho and Wingeier as the four defensive linemen on the first team.

Seniors Josh Mahoney (Northern Iowa) and Mike Nixon (Arizona State) joined Hull to complete the linebacking corps on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team.

Joining Hadley as the defensive backs on the first team are graduate student Josh Cain of Jacksonville State and seniors Scott Johnson (Brigham Young) and Chris Rocco (Liberty).

Graduate student Brandon Hellevang (North Dakota) is the place kicker on the first team while graduate student Zoltan Mesko (Michigan) was selected as the punter.

An environmental systems engineering major with a 3.56 GPA, Hull leads Penn State with 110 tackles. A starter in all 12 games, he has helped the 14th-ranked Nittany Lions compile a 10-2 record as a senior. A former walk-on who has started all 25 games at middle linebacker the last two years, Hull ranks fourth in the Big Ten Conference in tackles. A native of Millheim, Pa., Hull had five consecutive 10-tackle games this season.

A second team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division choice last year, Wisniewski has started 24 of 25 games over the last two seasons. A starter in every game at guard in 2008, he has been the Nittany Lions’ starting center this year. A secondary education major with a 3.89 GPA, the Bridgeville, Pa. native has helped Penn State lead The Big Ten in total offense.

A graduate student with a 3.93 G.P.A., Pitz has been the long snapper for the Nittany Lions in 2008 and 2009. A former walk-on, he has not made any errant snaps the last two seasons. A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Pitz earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2008.

A two-year starter on the defensive line for the Longhorns, Acho is a junior with a major in Honors business and holds a 3.62 GPA. A starter in all 11 games for Texas, he ranks among the team leaders with 41 tackles, making 10 tackles for lost yardage and six quarterback sacks. A native of Dallas, Texas, he leads the nation with four fumble recoveries. In 2008, he was named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team. Now 11-0, Texas clinched the Big 12 South Division title on Nov. 21 with a win over Kansas.

A graduate student who earned his B.A. degree in corporate communications, Ulatoski is pursuing his Master’s degree in advertising and has a 3.89 GPA. A starting tackle in 41 of 47 career games, he was named first team All-Big 12 Conference in 2008. A candidate for the Outland Trophy, Ulatoski anchors the third-leading scoring offense in the nation. A native of Southlake, Texas, he was named first team Academic All-Big 12 three times.

An economics major with a 3.60 G.P.A., Minett led South Dakota State to an 8-3 record and its first-ever NCAA FCS playoff berth this season. A starter in all 11 games at running back, he has rushed for 1,173 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. The Ruthton, Minnesota native also caught 16 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown. A repeat selection on the first team, Minett was honored as the Missouri Valley Football Conference Player of the Week in September. The Jackrabbits will make their NCAA FCS playoff debut at Montana.

Anderson, a senior majoring in computer information systems with a 3.50 GPA, is a two-year starter at running back for Tulane. In 11 games, he rushed for 913 yards and scored seven touchdowns for the Green Wave. One of the Conference USA leading rushers, he has caught 27 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown. A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Anderson was the winner of the Conference-USA Sportsmanship Award in 2008.

Markshausen and White, two of the top receivers in the Big Ten Conference, are the wide receivers on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team. A graduate student who earned his degree in mechanical engineering with a 3.46 GPA, Markshausen has caught 79 passes for 774 yards and 3 touchdowns. While leading the Wildcats to an 8-4 record, he is the second-leading receiver in the Big Ten. A native of Capron, Illinois, he was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team twice.

A human biology major with a 3.89 GPA, White has helped the Spartans post a 6-6 record. The leading receiver for Michigan State, he has 64 catches for 876 yards and eight touchdowns. The Saginaw, Michigan native leads the Big Ten in touchdown receptions.

Wingeier, a mechanical engineering major with a 3.78 GPA, is a repeat first team choice on the defensive line. While helping Dayton post a 9-2 record and a share of the Pioneer Football League title, he led Dayton with 6.5 sacks. A member of one of the top defensive units in NCAA FCS, Wingeler has 39 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for lost yardage.

A starter in all 11 games at Weber State, Hadley is a technical sales major with a perfect 4.0 GPA. A first team All-Big Sky Conference selection in 2008, he has helped the Wildcats, ranked 15th in NCAA FCS, post a 7-4 record while earning a berth in the NCAA FCS Playoffs. A third team NCAA FCS All-American safety as a junior, Hadley has 71 tackles and two interceptions this season. He has 225 career tackles and seven interceptions.

Cain, Johnson and Rocco join Hadley as the defensive backs on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team.

A computer Science major with a minor in mathematics and a 3.89 GPA., Cain helped Jacksonville State earn a number 14 ranking in NCAA FCS with a 7-3 record. The Gamecocks’ second-leading tackler, he has made 67 tackles in 11 games. One of the tackle leaders in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Wetumpka, Alabama native is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society.

Johnson, a senior exercise science major with a 3.82 GPA., has started 10 games for 22nd-ranked Brigham Young. While helping the Cougars post a 9-2 record, he has made 59 tackles and has three interceptions. A two-year starter for BYU, the Southlake, Texas product is a two-time Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete.

A pre-season All-Big South Conference selection, Rocco led 16th-ranked Liberty to an 8-3 record and a share of the Big South championship. A kinesiology major holding a 3.98 GPA, he made 57 tackles and recovered two fumbles. The defensive captain of the Flames, he has led a Liberty defense that ranks among the NCAA scoring defense leaders. A Forest, Virginia product, he has made 163 tackles in his career.

Kragt and Rundh join Acho and Wingeier as the defensive linemen on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team.

A biology major with a 3.88 GPA, Kragt led 13th-ranked Eastern Washington to an 8-3 record and an NCAA FCS playoff berth. A starter in all 11 games, he made 24 tackles and recovered three fumbles. The team leader with 4.5 sacks, the Ritzville, Washington native plans on becoming the ninth member of his family to become a chiropractor.

Rundh, an international business and finance major with a 3.94 GPA, has missed four games due to an injury. He has made 24 tackles with 1.5 sacks for Valparaiso. A three-year starter at defensive end, he has been honored as an honorable mention All-League selection.

Mahoney and Nixon, a pair of seniors with 4.00 G.P.A.’s, join Hull as the linebackers on ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football University Division first team.

An English and economics major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, Mahoney led Northern Iowa to a 7-4 record. A first team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection as a junior, he made 89 tackles in 11 games this season. In his career, the Sioux Falls, South Dakota native had 247 tackles with four interceptions.

A starter in all 11 games at Arizona State, Nixon made a team high 65 tackles this season. A political science major with a 4.00 GPA, he intercepted three passes and forced three fumbles. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Nixon led the Pacific 10 Conference with five interceptions as a junior. One of the Sun Devils’ co-captains, he was named honorable mention All-Pac-10 last season.

Jackson and McKenzie join Pitz, Ulatoski and Wisniewski as the offensive linemen on the Academic All-America® Football University Division first team.
 
A starter in 33 consecutive games at right guard for Fresno State, Jackson is a business administration management major carrying a 3.92 GPA. A second team All-Western Athletic Conference selection in 2008, Jackson is the top blocker for NCAA rushing leader Ryan Mathews. A member of two bowl teams at Fresno, he has helped Fresno to a 7-4 record this season. The Grass Valley, California native has helped the Bulldogs average 250.8 rushing yards per game, fifth in the nation.

A biochemistry major with a 3.89 GPA, McKenzie has started 34 straight games at Syracuse. A two-time member of the Big East All-Academic team, the Springfield, Pa. native completed an internship at Upstate Hospital last summer.

A starter in nine of 11 games at tight end, Peek is a finance major with a 3.79 GPA. The third-leading receiver for #2 Alabama, he has caught 20 passes for 221 yards and a touchdown. A transfer from Georgia Tech, the Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. native was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic Football team twice.

Hellevang, the place kicker at North Dakota, and Mesko, Michigan’s punter, complete the University Division first team.

A graduate student who is pursuing his M.B.A., Hellevang graduated from North Dakota with a degree in business administration and a 3.89 GPA. He scored 67 points in 10 games this season, hitting 14 of 17 field goal attempts. He has kicked a 52-yard field goal and a 50-yarder this season. The fourth-leading scorer in school history, Hellevang has also punted for the Fighting Sioux and has a 41.8 average.

A graduate student who is pursuing his M.B.A., Mesko graduated from Michigan with a degree in business administration and a 3.65 GPA. A first team All-Big Ten punter in 2008, he owns the Michigan career record with 246 punts and more than 10,000 yards. With a 44.5 average, the Twinsburg, Ohio native is ranked 7th in the nation.


Minnesota Duluth, Kalamazoo Lead Academic All-America® College Division Team

The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Football first team includes five Scholar-Athletes with 4.0 G.P.A.’s. There are two graduate students, 17 seniors and five juniors on the team. The 24 members of the first team have an average G.P.A. of 3.92. The 24-member first team is represented by 23 different schools, with Minnesota Duluth having two members on the squad.

Kildow, the College Division Academic All-America® of the Year, has a double major of chemistry and biology and a 4.00 GPA. A starter in all 11 games, he has led Morningside to 10-1 record and berth in the NAIA Playoffs. Named as a first team All-American wide receiver by The Sports Network in 2008, he has caught 77 passes for 1,375 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

A two-time selection as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, Kildow has a school-record 35 career touchdowns scored. With 209 career receptions for a school record 3,269 yards, he is second on the all-time pass receiving list. In addition, he has also averaged 9.8 yards per punt return and 27.4 yards per kickoff return.

Last week, he led Morningside to a first round victory in the NAIA Playoffs with 257 all-purpose yards, including an 84-yard punt return for a TD. The Omaha, Nebraska native is one of the 16 national finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy.

Senior offensive linemen Marcus Greatens of Winona State, Brian Monaco of Hobart and Blaine Westemeyer of Augustana (Ill.) are among the four repeat selections on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football College Division first team, along with senior linebacker Lee Sasala of Case Western Reserve.

Five members of the first team were second team selections last season. Senior tight end Jarrell NeSmith (Tusculum) and senior offensive lineman David Doiron (Western New England) moved up to the first team, along with a trio of senior defensive linemen: Alex Fitch (DePauw), Jake Floyd (Muhlenberg) and Alex Rubino (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

Minnesota Duluth and Kalamazoo are the only institutions with more than one representative on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football College Division first team. Junior running back Isaac Odim and senior offensive lineman Tobias Lemke, who led Minnesota Duluth to the 2008 NCAA Division II championship, represent the Bulldogs on the first team while senior quarterback Brandon Luczak joins senior linebacker Nate Kopydlowski as Kalamazoo’s first team selections.

Junior Ben Wartman of St. Thomas (Minn.) joins Odom as the running backs while graduate student Thomas Reives (Rose-Hulman) and Kildow are the wide receivers on the first team.

Junior Mark Sullivan was selected as a first team defensive lineman, along with Fitch, Floyd and Rubino. Senior John Peters (Union College) and junior Matt Freed of East Stroudsburg are the first team linebackers, along with Sasala.

T.J. Ridley of Gustavus Adolphus is one of the defensive backs on the first team after being a second team pick on the 2008 national academic team. Division squad. Seniors David Benjamin of Bethel (Minn.) and Mitch Erdely (Washington & Jefferson) are the other defensive backs, along with graduate student Myles Burnsides (Northwest Missouri State).

Senior place kicker Garrett Rolsma (Central Washington) and junior punter Richard Pattison (Carnegie-Mellon) complete the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® Football College Division first team.

One of nine finalists for the Harlon Hill Trophy as the top player in Division II, Odom is a mechanical engineering major with a 3.89 GPA. He led the Bulldogs to their second straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) title and an 11-1 record. In 12 games, he has rushed for 1,774 yards and 29 touchdowns while picking up more than 100 yards in each game. The third-leading rusher in the nation, the Rochester, Minnesota native has a school record 32 touchdowns this year. The NSIC Offensive Player of the Year in 2009, Odom was named first team All-NSIC for the second straight year. Since he became the Bulldogs’ starting running back, UMD has won 26 of 27 games, including the 2008 NCAA championship game. In 2008, he ran for 1,638 yards and was named third team All-American.

A four-year starter at center for the Bulldogs, Lemke has made 44 consecutive starts. A political science and criminology major with a 3.93 GPA., he anchors an offensive line which has helped Minnesota-Duluth lead the nation in scoring with an average of 40.5 points per game. A two-time All-NSIC first team selection, he led the 2008 Bulldogs to a 15-0 record and a 21-14 victory over Northwest Missouri in the national championship game.

A chemistry major with a 3.85 GPA, Luczak was a record-setting quarterback at Kalamazoo. As a senior, he led NCAA Division III by passing for 3,663 yards and 37 touchdowns. A second team All-MIAA selection, he was named as the MIAA Player of the Week five times in his senior year. He completed 322 of 516 passes as a senior. In his final game, Luczak completed 56 of 79 passes for a school record 507 yards and five touchdowns. A native of Rochester Hills, Michigan, he threw for more than 400 yards in a game six times in his career.

Wartman, the leading rusher for 10th-ranked St. Thomas (Minn.) joins as the running backs on the first team. A business and financial management major with a 3.87 GPA, he has led the Tommies to a 10-1 record and their first NCAA Division II playoff appearance since 1990. A two-time all-conference pick, he has rushed for 1,448 yards in 12 games. The Prior Lake, Minnesota native ranks among the NCAA leaders in rushing, all-purpose yards and scoring.

A graduate student, Reives of Rose-Hulman is the other wide receiver on the first team. Pursuing his Master’s degree in engineering management, he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and a 3.98 GPA. A starter in nine games, the Indianapolis, Indiana native is a two-time first team All-Heartland Athletic Conference pick who caught 37 passes for 718 yards and 5 touchdowns. He returned 22 kickoffs for a 21.5 average. Reives was a first team member of the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division team in track and field.

Greatens, a cellular & molecular biology major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, earned first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division first team honors for the second time. The co-winner of the Glen Galligan Scholar Athlete Award, he was also named first team All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) at tackle. A starter in all 11 games for Winona State, the Oneida, Wisconsin native helped his team post a 7-4 record in 2009.

A first team All-Liberty League offensive lineman three years in a row, Monaco led Hobart to three straight league championships. A biology major who carried a 3.99 GPA, he was a semi-finalist for the national Campbell Trophy. The Amherst, N.Y. native was named to the Liberty League’s All-Academic team three times. As a senior, he helped Hobart to a 6-3 record with a season-ending four-game winning streak.

A 6-5, 285-pound tackle for Augustana (Ill.) College, Westemeyer is a senior biochemistry major with a 3.93 GPA. A four-year starter and team captain, he earned NCAA Division III All-American notice from the AFCA in 2008. A native of Overland Park, Kansas, he earned first team all-conference honors from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin three times. Westemeyter is a semi-finalist for a National Football Foundation post-graduate scholarship.

A senior with a major in economics and a 3.97 GPA, Doiron was a three-year starter at Western New England College. A second team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Football pick last year, he started all ten games and helped the Golden Bears post a 6-4 record. As a senior, the Plainville, Massachusetts native was named to the All-New England Football Conference team for the second year in a row.

NeSmith, a tight end from Tusculum, completes the first team offense. A pre-medicine major with a 3.86 GPA, he was a ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® second time selection last year. A native of Russellville, Alabama, he earned Division II All-America first team honors in 2008. He caught 56 passes for 678 yards and three touchdowns in 2009 and ended his career with 159 catches for 1,670 yards, third on Tusculum’s career receiving list.

Fitch is one of three defensive linemen on the first team who moved up from the second team. An economics and mathematics major with a 3.97 GPA, he started all ten games for DePauw this season. A two-time selection as first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, he led the Tigers with six sacks as a senior. Fitch has 14 career sacks and blocked nine kicks in his career. A native of Long Grove, Illinois, Fitch led the Tigers to a 7-3 record.

A finance major with a 3.90 GPA, Floyd started nine games at Muhlenberg and made 49 tackles, fourth on the team. The Mules’ team captain, he was second in the Centennial Conference with seven sacks. An honorable mention all-conference selection, he was a key player on Muhlenberg’s back-to-back conference championship teams. A native of Springfield, N.J., Floyd made 12 tackles for lost yardage.

Another ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® second team pick last year, Rubino is a chemical engineering major with a perfect 4.00 GPA at M.I.T. A starter in all nine games, he made 43 tackles, including 12 tackles for lost yardage. A three-time member of the New England Football Conference All-Academic team, the Sparta, N.J. native was the winner of the Hal Chalmers NEFC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

A junior biology major with a 4.00 GPA, Sullivan completes the first team defensive line. A starter in all ten games at Kenyon, he made 54 tackles, including a team high six sacks. He also ranked among the North Coast Athletic Conference leaders with 18 tackles for lost yardage. A native of Mentor, Ohio, he also recovered one fumble.

A repeat selection on the first team, Sasala is a biology/pre-med major with a 3.96 GPA at Case Western. A starter in all 11 games, he led the Spartans to a 10-0 regular season record and a second straight berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs where they lost in the first round. The team leader with 88 tackles, he has also helped Case Western win 30 consecutive regular season victories and back-to-back University Athletic Association championships. A three-time UAA Scholar-Athlete, Sasala is a native of Kittanning, Pennsylvania.

Freed, a junior, was named as a first team Division II All-American linebacker in 2008. A History major with a 3.70 GPA, he led East Stroudsburg to an 8-4 record this season and a Division II playoff berth. The Souderton, Pa. native led the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in tackles for the second year in a row. He made 132 tackles, including 10 sacks, in 2009. With 273 career tackles, he already ranks among the Warriors’ career leaders.
 
A first team All-Liberty League linebacker, Peters led Union College to an 8-3 record and the ECAC Bowl championship. A biology major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, he led the Liberty League with 121 tackles. The owner of the school record with 22 tackles in one game, he tied his own record against Rochester this season. A native of Clarks Summit, Pa., he was the team captain and earned Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week honors three times.

A biochemistry and molecular biology major with a 3.99 GPA, Benjamin led Bethel to a 7-3 record this season. A second team College Division Academic All-America® pick as a junior, he was third on the team with 58 tackles. A Roseville, Minnesota native, Benjamin was an Academic All-Conference selection as a junior.

A graduate student pursuing his M.B.A., Burnsides earned his degree in business with a 3.90 GPA. Named as the MIAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, he has led second-ranked Northwest Missouri State to an 11-1 record and the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. A second team Academic All-America® selection last year, the Maryville, Missouri native has made 58 tackles, second on the team.

Ridley is a biology major with a 3.95 GPA who was a second team Academic All-America® pick in 2008. A three-year starter at Gustavus Adolphus, he started eight games this season and made 27 tackles. A native of Edina, Minnesota, he earned Academic All-Conference honors three times.

An accounting major with a 3.90 GPA, Erdely led 13th-ranked Washington & Jefferson to a 9-2 record as a senior. A starter in all 11 games, he has made 62 tackles, third on the team. An honorable mention All-Presidents Athletic Conference selection, Erdely has played in 41 career games and made 164 tackles with three interceptions. A native of Perryopolis, Pa., he helped W&J to a four-year record of 40-7.

Rolsma has helped Central Washington to a 12-0 record this season. An exercise xcience major with a 3.50 GPA, he has scored 98 points, making 20 of 25 field goal attempts as well as 38 of 39 conversion tries. A native of University Place, Washington, he has scored 328 points in his career, second on the Wildcats’ career list.

Selected as the punter on the Academic All-America® College Division Football first team, Pattison helped Carnegie Mellon to a 5-5 record. A chemical engineering major with a 3.95 GPA, Pattison was named first team All-University Athletic Association last year. He ranks eighth in NCAA Division III with a 40.5 punting average. A native of Rocky River, Ohio, he was the UAA Special Teams Player of the Week four times this season.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program’s inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
