CoSIDA’s Senior Athletic Communicators Council held its second national teleconference Thursday, February 26. The topic of “Budget Control”, a timely issue of concern to many of us and we have two excellent resources joining us.
Iowa State University Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard offered insight on upcoming financial challenges for college athletics at the top of the call. Pollard is an ideal resource, serving as ISU’s A.D. for three years after having been named “Business Manager of the Year” as CFO at Wisconsin. He is also a past president of CABMA and formerly operated his own financial data collection service for intercollegiate athletics programs.
Ian McCaw has been Baylor’s Director of Athletics since 2003. He has been widely acclaimed for his administrative and development planning skills and has an excellent external background at several institutions. As a former sports information officer, he related well to the discussion.
