The NCAA Statistics Department is excited to present the first edition of the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Statisticians’ Manual for your use this season. This project would not have been possible without the generous assistance from the following sports information directors: Ryan Griswold, Notre Dame (Md.), Eric Rhew, Towson and Phil Ticknor, Washington (Md.).
Like the other stats manuals produced by the NCAA, this document is intended to help standardize statistics and provide consistent rulings of the statistical components of women’s lacrosse. It has been based on an original set of guidelines developed by Chip Rogers, which many of you have used in the past.
The manual is available as a PDF online at www.NCAA.org, www.NCAA.com, and
www.NCAAPublications.com. Specific instructions to find the manual are included below.
We encourage you to review this manual prior to the start of your team’s season. As with all of the other stats manuals, the NCAA Statistics Department welcomes feedback, questions, and ideas for further clarification. Feel free to share your thoughts with J.D. Hamilton (
jhamilton@ncaa.org) or any of the SIDs that assisted with the project.
Thanks, and best wishes on a successful season!
