Four Social-Based Functions Highlight Convention Social Schedule

Attendees to the 2009 CoSIDA Convention in San Antonio will have the opportunity to attend four social-based functions that are being hosted by the organization’s corporate partners and sponsors.

“We appreciate the generous financial support of our corporate partners in providing these social opportunities for our convention participants,” said Nick Joos, 2008-09 CoSIDA President. “These events afford our members an opportunity to get together in an informal setting, talk shop, renew friendships and make new ones.”

The traditional Welcome Brunch will start the festivities off on Monday, June 22, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.  For the second straight year, College Fanz™ Sports Network(http://www.collegefanz.com)  will serve as the Official Sponsor and sole host of the Welcome Brunch, which gives everyone attending the Convention their first chance to renew old friendships and make new ones.

Later that evening, ESPN  (http://www.espn.com) will host its annual reception from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. It will follow the Academic All-America Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be emceed by ESPN’s Ron Franklin.

On Tuesday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., through a combined effort of several dozen sponsors and exhibitors, there will be the Convention’s first-ever “Exhibitors Reception.”  More specifics on this function will be forthcoming.

Then, on Wednesday evening, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Allstate Sugar Bowl (http://www.allstatesugarbowl.com) and the Rose Bowl Game presented by Citi (http://www.tournamentofroses.com/rosebowlgame) will co-host the Convention’s final evening social event.

We encourage all CoSIDA members, whether they are attending the Convention or not, to send letters of thanks to our corporate partners. Without their continued support, it would be impossible to hold the social events that are scheduled. Their email addresses are ESPN (Josh Krulewitz - Josh.Krulewitz@espn.com),  College Fanz™ Sports Network (Jim DeLorenzo - delorenzo@collegefanz.com), the All-State Sugar Bowl (John Sudsbury - johns@sugarbowl.org) and the Rose Bowl Game presented by Citi (Gina Chappin - gchappin@rosemail.org).
