The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), in association with the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), today released the fall standings of the 2009-10 NATYCAA Cup.
Mt. San Antonio College once again leads heading into the spring season. Complete standings and scoring criteria are posted on the CCCAA website, www.coasports.org.
Sacramento, CA -- The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), in association with the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), today released the fall standings of the 2009-10 NATYCAA Cup.
Mt. San Antonio College once again leads the 2009-10 standings with 106.5 points after winning the prestigious award last year. They are followed by Fresno City College with 85.5 points as well as Orange Coast College and Sierra College with 77 points each.
A college is awarded points based on its team’s final positions in post-conference competition. Each college’s top-five men’s and top-five women’s team results count toward the school’s overall point total.

Final standings will be announced on May 30, 2010.NATYCAA is the professional organization of two-year college athletic administrators and membership is open to all two-year institutions from throughout the country. The NATYCAA Awards were designed to recognize and reward overall program excellence at the two-year college level. The criterion for the State Associations division was developed by the CCCAA in conjunction with the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA).
This is the seventh year that NATYCAA has sponsored a State Associations division. Sierra College captured the inaugural award in 2003-04, Fresno City College won the award in 2004-05, Long Beach City College claimed the top spot in 2005-06, Orange Coast won in 2006-07, Fresno City took the award for the second time in 2007-08, and Mt. SAC in 2008-09.
The 2009-10 winner will be recognized at the NATYCAA Awards Luncheon, held during the 2010 NATYCAA Convention, June 21-22 at the Marriot Hotel in Anaheim, California. Awards will be presented to the top three colleges, and the top twenty schools in the division will receive recognition.
