On October 7, Dan McKane, the Executive Director of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), presented the following extensive powerpoint presentation to the New Jersey collegiate athletic directors for their annual business meeting and professional development day.
The purpose of the 161-slide presentation, according to McKane, was "put together to help athletic

administrators reflect on how new technologies are influencing intercollegiate athletics and media today."
‘New Media and Technologies for Collegiate Athletics’ provides a look into social networking, digital media, broadcasting, live stats, film transfer, mobile communication, and a variety of items from the digital world that are impacting our every day communications and decisions," McKane concluded.

Daniel McKane became the second full-time Executive Director of the MIAC in the summer of 2005 after serving as Assistant Executive Director of the Conference from 1999-2005.
In addition to his duties with the conference, he serves on the Div. III Commissioners Association committees for Diversity & Well-being and Sportsmanship. He is a 1996 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, where he competed in soccer and served as an assistant men's soccer coach for the Gusties for three seasons after graduation.
