KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), a leader in character-driven athletics, announced today that Lori Joseph has been hired as Vice President for Marketing and Communications. Joseph’s background in marketing, communications, strategic planning and branding will be key in building the NAIA brand to fit the small college athletic association’s culture and core beliefs.
Joseph, a recognized integrated marketing leader, comes to the NAIA with over 20 years experience in leading start-up to large companies through change and growth. In her role as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Joseph will manage both long-term strategic and day-to-day tactical needs of the association. Joseph’s professional experience will drive NAIA brand awareness and perception through a variety of activities such as competitive research, strategy and implementation, branding and marketplace positioning.
Joseph was previously Director of Brand Management and Integration for Sprint. At Sprint, Joseph managed a team of professionals driving a clear brand position as well as integrating marketing campaigns from retail to business-to-business. This includes work with numerous sports partners including the NFL, NASCAR, Olympic athletes and the United States Ski team.
Joseph earned her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast News and Journalism from the University of Kansas. A past Kansas City Chapter President of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Joseph served in various positions on the International Board. She is also a past recipient of the IABC Arthur E. Lowell Communicator of the Year Award.
