CoSIDA members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals for the 2011 Special Awards, including the newest award, The Bud Nangle Award.
Special Awards nominations are open year-round and all are done through our online nomination system.
THE NOMINATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH JANUARY 2011 - the new nomination deadline for 2011 awards is Monday, Jan. 31, 2011 at 5 p.m. ET. The deadline originally was Jan. 11, but was moved back to accomodate holiday schedules.
Please take the time to review the awards and nominate deserving colleagues and peers for these prestigious awards which honor the very best in our athletic communications industry and those leaders in the athletic and media professions as well.
• The deadline for 2011 Special Awards is
MONDAY, JANUARY 31, 2011 (5 p.m. ET).
• All nominators need to be active members of CoSIDA and use their valid CoSIDA login in order to nominate.
• Members who are eligible to receive the 25-year or lifetime achievement awards should self-nominate themselves using the forms online. The 25-year award is for members who have completed 25 years of FULL-TIME (no internships) service by June, 2011. The lifetime achievement awards are for those who have served at least 25 years in the profession and are planning to retire in 2011.
• This year, the CoSIDA Board of Directors and Special Awards Committee also endorsed a NEW AWARD -
The Bud Nangle Award, named in honor of CoSIDA Hall of Famer and long-time Northern Illinois SID Owen "Bud Nangle" who authored the CoSIDA Code of Ethics in 1974. The Nangle Award will be presented annually to an individual outside of CoSIDA or to a member of CoSIDA who shows ethics and integrity under unusual or stressful situations.
