For those publicizing their team signings on National Football Signing Day (Feb. 3), CoSIDA corporate partner Fox Sports Interactive - via Scout.com - had developed a "one-stop shop" for SID's for information (player photos, state & national player rankings, recruiting writers' quotes, video links, and team recruitment class rankings).
Here is the information to CoSIDA members from Joel S. Cox, Executive Director of Scout.com/FOX Sports Interactive.
Dear Athletic Communications & Sports Information Directors: Due to numerous requests for our prospect rankings, ratings, evaluations, and quotes from our recruiting writers as we head into National Signing Day, we have created a one-stop shop for your needs.
BCS SchoolsIf you follow the link below, and you are a BCS school, you will be able to find your school, click on the link, and see the relevant information for use in press releases, etc.
You are encouraged to use any of the information on the page including photos.
If you need an original photo, please email Miller Safrit at
Millers@scout.com and he'll do his best to help you. All we ask is for proper attribution on the photos if not watermarked.
Here's the BCS school link: http://www.scout.com/2/941928.html Once you find your school, in the player capsule you'll find our rating (star ratings), and player rankings. You'll notice their state rank, their NATIONAL position rank, and where they rank in the Scout TOP 300 if applicable. The Scout 300 is the top 300 players in the country and the rank is an overall ranking regardless of position.
For example, if it says: Scout300: 41 - it means that the player is the 41st ranked player in the country. You'll also see the other schools that were recruiting that particular player.
Non-BCS SchoolsFor non-BCS schools, many of your players are also in our database, and some of the players will be ranked and rated as well.
Please follow this link:
http://www.scout.com/
and scroll down the page to the banner "Scout Your Team" and click on "More Colleges" to find your particular school. Not every player in your class will be included as we receive far less information on the smaller colleges and their commitments.
2010 Top Team Recruiting RankingsLastly, more and more, we receive requests for our "Team Recruiting Rankings" where recruiting classes are ranked based on the players they have received commitments for.
These rankings are not final until late Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 3) as players may switch their commitments at the last minute.
You can see the rankings here as of February 1:
http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9&c=14&yr=2010
If your team isn't in the Top 25 on this page, you can click "next" at the bottom of the rankings to see the next 25 and so on. Again, please note that these rankings will change with additional commitments or de-commitments.
The #1 ranked class on Wednesday will be named Scout.com National Recruiting Class Champion" for the 2010 class. In addition, you can click on the team name to dive deeper into that particular recruiting class.
