Fried is one of four young female professionals receiving this elite honor from The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA). The award recognizes outstanding leadership/involvement in intercollegiate athletics, on campus and in the community.


Kansas City, MO– The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) has announced that it will honor four special young women, each of whom has provided outstanding leadership in intercollegiate athletics, with the 2010 Administrator of Tomorrow Award. Among this elite group of honorees is Jen Fried, Husson University sports information director. Fried was singled out from among all NACWAA members in NCAA Division III.

The Administrator of Tomorrow Award is presented to an undergraduate/graduate student, intern or volunteer recognizing involvement and/or a leadership role on campus, in a conference office or organization and in the community.

The other recipients of the 2010 Administrator of Tomorrow Award are: Anna Chappell, compliance graduate assistant (University of Oklahoma – Division I-FBS); Shelby Stueve, administrative intern (California State University at East Bay – Division II); and Eileen Patton, NCAA Educational Affairs intern (NCAA-Organization).

“NACWAA and JOSTENS are proud to recognize these young aspiring individuals as they prepare to become our future leaders,” said Patti Phillips, Executive Director of NACWAA.

Jen Fried is the recipient of the NCAA Division III Administrator of Tomorrow Award. Dr. Betsy Alden, President and CEO of Alden & Associates, Inc., said: “I have met Jen a few times and was immediately impressed with her - from the fine mind she has to the outward presentation and cheer that embodies her. I believe that Jen will someday be a valued leader in the profession.”

Fried represented Husson at NACWAA’s 2009 National Convention where she presented on a panel titled “New and Young Professionals in Athletics.” Fried is a founding member of NACWAA’s NYPros (New Young Professionals) and serves on NACWAA’s Membership Retention and Title IX Committees.

“Jen Fried is a true professional in her passion and integrity for NCAA Division III athletics. Her contributions have been invaluable to our athletic department and she is a big part of our successes. She is of the highest morale fiber and has made great growth in her professional development, always ready to contribute new ideas and energy. Jen is a model young professional” stated Cindy Connelley, Husson Director of Athletics.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this award by such an esteemed group of colleagues as NACWAA. The skillsets I am developing at Husson University are invaluable to me at this stage of my career. I remain deeply committed to developing and honing the tools needed to be a successful athletics administrator,” stated Fried.

The Administrator of Tomorrow Award is presented to an undergraduate/graduate student intern or volunteer in NCAA Football Bowl Division, Football Championship Division, Division I; II; III; NAIA/NJCAA/CC and Conferences/Organizations categories. Up to seven national honorees can be selected and presented with their awards on their campuses, in their conference offices, at their organizations or at select conference/organization events of choice.
