Media guide replacement: Marquette unveils WeAreMarquetteAthletics.com, focusing on MU experience

In response to the new NCAA Division I media guide legislation for 2010-11 which, as of August 1, prohibits distribution of printed media guides to recruits, schools are focusing on digital creations to publicize and enhance their college, athletic program, community, conference, etc.

Below is an example from Big East Conference member Marquette University.

If other schools are interested in showcasing their digital publications and web efforts as it pertains to media guide materials, please contact Barb Kowal, CoSIDA Director of External Affairs (barbkowal@cosida.com) with your information to be included in a future article.

In a movement away from printed media guides, Marquette University launched WeAreMarquetteAthletics.com on July 22.

WeAreMarquetteAthletics.com features a site dedicated to detailing the University's athletics program, primarily utilizing a series of multimedia presentations.

Developed through a partnership with Tri-Marq Communications, Inc., the site provides visitors an overview of the University's 14 NCAA Division I athletic programs and information on the supporting features which make the student-athlete experience at Marquette so unique.

Along with sport-specific videos focusing on each program's philosophies and goals, the site also includes information on the BIG EAST Conference, city of Milwaukee, community service, athletic facilities and the University's academic environment.

The site is also mobile user friendly and can be viewed on a variety of devices, including the iPhone.
