FWAA, AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic partner, produce single DVD of football guides

For the second straight season, the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic has partnered with the Football Writers Association of America and collegepressbox.com to produce a single DVD data disc with every Division I FBS media guide.

In addition to all 120 schools and 11 conference media guides, the disc also includes the Bowl Championship Series and National College Football Awards Association guides.

In addition, the disc features the 2010 NCAA football records book, rule book and statisticians' manual, none of which are being printed this season.

The discs should be ready to be mailed at the end of the third week in September. The delay was unavoidable due to the fact that some schools did not have an electronic version of their book until after the season had started. While we had hoped to avoid that, we do know that the disc will still be a valuable year-round tool.

Thanks to the folks at the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic (Michael Konradi, Charlie Fiss et al) for making this happen and to Steve Richardson and Tim Griffin at the FWAA for supporting the project. In the future, we hope to make this an easier endeavor to complete in a timely fashion or perhaps even change the distribution method.

A total of 99 schools and nine conferences have their media guides on collegepressbox.com, which also has the NCAA, BCS and NCFAA publications.
