1. Bernstein Crisis Management Blog
Jonathan Bernstein is a great case study source. He is current on what is going on and is often asked to put his oar in when people get in trouble. I just got his new book, Manager’s Guide to Crisis Management. Short and easy read. Pick it up.
2. Bulletproof
This is from Levick Strategic Communications. A number of people write for this blog aimed mostly at enterprise level corporate. They mix corporate communications, media training and some social media. Food for thought as they are just beginning to dip in to the area of social media.
3. Crisis Blogger
Gerald Baron is another that gets frequently tapped for his take on crises. His expertise is emergency management, and he is founder of the PIER, a web-based system of crisis communication technology. He has two books on emergency management communications as well.
4. reputationXchange.com
This is the blog of Leslie Gaines-Ross, Weber Shandwick’s Chief Reputation Strategist. This one thing I know: a good crisis plan is incomplete without an understanding of reputation strategies. I highly recommend her book, Corporate Reputation: 12 Steps to Safeguarding and Recovering Reputation as well.
5. Communicating Through a Crisis
Dan Hicks’ blog is a good case studies resource of businesses and organizations of all sizes.
Honorable mentions:
Mr. Media Training (PR communications mostly), idisaster 2.0 (emergency management in the web-based era).
There are others out there, mostly in the area of emergency management. Somewhat of a lack in the area of blogs specifically related to digital-based crisis communications.
