On Saturday, Feb. 11, the media room at the Ted Constant Convocation Center on the campus of Old Dominion University was named in honor of long-time SID Carol R. Hudson, following a generous gift of $50,000 to the Old Dominion Athletic Foundation from Hudson's long-time friend Ken Samet. (Both Hudson and Samet are pictured, right.)

Hudson, the SID for 28 years at ODU, was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Communications last year. He met Samet when the two were attending Old Dominion University as students in the late 1970's. Samet went on to have a successful career in hospital administration and is the current President and CEO of MedStar Health, the largest not for profit healthcare delivery system in the Baltimore-Washington, DC region.

Hudson was inducted into the CoSIDA Hall of Fame in 2010, has twice served as president of the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association, and is a former board member of CoSIDA.
