INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA’s Student Assistance Fund, dedicated to covering student-athlete expenses beyond the reach of scholarships, has grown steadily since its inception. During the 2010-11 academic year alone, the NCAA and its membership paid more than $53 million directly to 81,000 student-athletes.

Institutions apply the funds to daily needs such as summer tuition and clothing, but also rely on the tens of millions of dollars when disaster strikes. From a tornado ripping through campus to the loss of a loved one, the Student Assistance Fund helps student-athletes in returning to normalcy or returning home.

Covering educational, health and personal costs, more than $66 million annually is now available. Click here for more information.
