Behind the scenes: A look at #CoSIDAGameDay on Championship Saturday

This year, CoSIDA will go behind the scenes and take a look at our members at work in their game-day responsibilities in "#CoSIDAGameDay" features. This entry is courtesy of former CoSIDA president Tom Di Camillo, who coordinates medial relations and communications efforts for the Pac West Conference.

Championship Saturday
Saturday, Dec. 7

CoSIDA’s is represented at the NCAA Division II Football National Quarterfinals at Shepherd University with Second Past President Tom Di Camillo supporting the sports information efforts of Shepherd Sports Information Director Chip Ransom and his staff.

As is the case with many college division post-season games, the increased media attention  requires the SIDs to be creative in adding space for the additional reporters and personnel who attend.

In this case, Chip and his staff are doing a terrific job of managing two press boxes on opposite sides of the stadium.

At the end of the first quarter Shepherd and West Chester are tied 7-7.

The most challenging aspect of doing stats for this game – both teams are known as the Rams and their helmets are identical! Chip and his staff are doing a tremendous job.
