From the #WhyD3 Show: Interviews with CoSIDA President Eric McDowell & Executive Director Doug Vance

At the NCAA Convention in Washington D.C. last week, CoSIDA's 2014-15 President Eric McDowell of Union (N.Y.) College and CoSIDA Executive Director Doug Vance sat down for interviews with the #WhyD3 Show about different aspects of CoSIDA and the athletic communications profession. Conducting the interviews was show host Dave McHugh, broadcast director for the D3Sports.com network of websites that helps produce the show.

In the video below, Vance focused on CoSIDA's signature program, the Capital One Academic All-America® program. In the second video, McDowell talks about his year-long role about serving as CoSIDA's president and the power and importance of strategic communications on the college campus.

The #WhyD3 Show is supported by NCAA Division III and is hosted by McHugh. The monthly series features student-athletes, coaches, teams, athletics programs and conferences telling their stories and celebrating the three "D's" of Division III - discover, develop and dedicate. McDowell talks about the role of the athletic communications professional on our campuses and in conference offices, about his love of the profession and why those in the business need to help embrace, promote and help others -  particularly student-athletes - succeed. McDowell also talks about serving as CoSIDA president and what his Division III point of view has meant and accomplished.
