NCAA.org Web & Statistical Outages Postponed; Will Now Take Place in Mid-February
UPDATED NOTE as of Jan. 22:
The NCAA Media Coordination & Statistics staff emailed the CoSIDA membership on Thursday, Jan. 22 to say that the scheduled web outage has been postponed (from Jan. 22-26) and will take place either Feb. 12 or 13. More information will follow from the NCAA as we near those dates. The NCAA.org website outage, as well as all web and statistical applications, will be moved to a new server beginning Feb. 12 or 13.
Jan. 22, 2015 update: 10:42 am (Eastern)
Dear SIDs,
We have just been notified by our IT staff that this weekend’s scheduled outage has been delayed, and the IT staff is now planning the outage to begin either Feb. 12 or 13.
This was not the media coordination and statistics staff’s decision, and while we know this is a significant disruption, we will do what we can to minimize the effects of the outage on you and your staff.
As a result of the change in dates, this outage will not only affect reporting men’s and women’s basketball statistics but will also affect all spring sports that start on or before Feb. 13. Please forward this note on to other members of your staff who handle statistics reporting for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and/or men’s volleyball.
The information below is still an accurate explanation of the impact of the outage, and we have updated the dates to reflect the changes.
Again, this is not ideal for us, and we apologize for the significant disruption and any inconvenience this may have caused. We will communicate with you more on this as we get closer to Feb. 12.
In the meantime, we will continue to operate on our normal schedules with statistics posted at normal times.
As always, thank you for all of the work you do. Obviously we can’t do our job without your support and without all of the work you do for your schools.
Sincerely,
The NCAA Media Coordination and Statistics staff
