Capital One, which has served in partnership with CoSIDA as the title sponsor of the Academic All-America® program and Academic All-America Hall

of Fame® since 2011, will not return in that role once the current agreement concludes in June, 2015.
CoSIDA Executive Director Doug Vance indicated that the task of identifying a new title sponsorship for CoSIDA’s signature program is well underway.
“Capital One has been a significant partner in support of the program and we appreciate
everything they’ve done on behalf of the current and previous student-athletes they’ve helped honor,” said Vance. “They’ve been upfront with us regarding the partnership and indicated last June during our 2014 convention they may need to change course with their level of involvement. We are encouraged they want to stay involved as a corporate partner and will work to find an opportunity that is a good fit for both Capital One and our organization.”
During Capital One’s involvement as the title sponsor, the program has grown from just two divisions to four divisions (Division I, Division II, Division III and the College Division that includes NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian members). The program honors over 2,000 student-athletes each year on the national level. Capital One also introduced additional exposure and brand awareness for the program with an Academic All-America® website, highlighting the annual team honors, student-athlete profiles and Academic All-America Hall of Fame® inductees.
“With this possible change on our radar screen for several months, we’ve been working to develop a plan and approach to search for a new title sponsor,” added Vance. “I’m confident that the Academic All-America® program will have great appeal in the marketplace and we will be able to identify a new title sponsor at some point in the near future.”
