More on Stromeier & Sending In Your Questions
ASK YOUR QUESTIONS TO LISA ... IN HER OWN WORDS

Go for it!  You know you want to…. It’s time to send in your question to me, CoSIDA’s very own mental health resource specialist.  Below are some FAQs about the process:

HOW DO I GET MY QUESTION TO YOU?
Email your question to me at AskLisa@LisaStromeier.com

WHEN SHOULD I SEND IT?
You can mail your question to me any time for future calls. We are all set with questions for the Nov. 12th call, so thanks to all who submitted them!

ARE YOU SURE NO ONE WILL KNOW I SENT YOU A QUESTION?
Absolutely.  That’s why your question is going to an email address that only I have access to.  It’s no one else’s business to know who’s asking what.  And if your question is one of the ones that I answer during the teleseminar I will not use your real name.  Confidentiality is key.

WILL YOU THINK I AM CRAZY FOR ASKING WHAT I REALLY WANT TO KNOW?
Nope. In 28 years of working with people I have never met a crazy person. I have met a lot of people struggling with a variety of tough life issues. These people were smart enough to know that they had tried all they knew to do and needed to bump it up to a professional. (Actually I worry more about the person who isn’t seeking help when they’re going through a really difficult time.)

WHY IS CoSIDA DOING THIS?
Because your Association knows:

• Being an Athletic Communications Director is phenomenally rewarding but the unique nature of the job can sometimes create personal and professional challenges.

• Pop up deadlines can make it hard to keep appointments to talk with someone about those challenges. You can listen to the teleseminar live on November 12th at 2pm EST, or you can go to the archives and listen to it whenever your schedule allows.

• For some people there is still a bit of a stigma about talking with a Psychotherapist. You are assured complete confidentiality with this benefit. No one from your school, no family member or friend, no insurance company and no one from CoSIDA will ever know the question you submit.

WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
You might ask something like:

“The other day I thought I was having a heart attack.  I went to the ER and was told it wasn’t a heart attack but rather a panic attack.  What are panic attacks and what do I do about them?”

“My wife is fed up with all the times I’ve been late for events we’ve had planned together.  I don’t know what to do because I have a job I love but I hate disappointing her too.  What can I do when she’s upset?”

WILL YOU SEND ME A PERSONAL ANSWER TO MY QUESTION?
Due to the number of questions I’m anticipating receiving, it won’t be possible for me to answer any of them personally.

Please remember that these questions and answers are purely for educational purposes and are not a substitute for one-on-one counseling with a qualified mental health professional.

In the event that you are having extreme feelings of anxiety or depression, or are having thoughts of hurting yourself or others, please seek immediate help through professional resources available in your local area, i.e. hospitals or national hotline.
