Madonna University Sports Information Director Patrick Moore Passes Away

Moore, 36, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 29. He had served as Director of Sports Information at his alma mater, Madonna University, since the summer of 2007. Moore was active in CoSIDA, serving on the Academic All-America® committee as a district coordinator for the past four years. Moore was honored with the Wolverine-Hoosier 5353Athletic Conference's highest honor for a sports information director in 2010, 2011 and 2012 when he was selected as the "Mike Dean Sports Information Director of the Year." He became the first ever three-time winner of the award voted upon by the league's media relations professionals. Moore also served a four-year sports information stint at the University of Detroit Mercy, with the last two (2005-07) as an assistant SID.

The Madonna University family is deeply saddened by the sudden death of Patrick I. Moore, director of sports information. Moore, 36, passed away Sunday, November 29, after suffering a heart attack. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

Moore graduate from Madonna in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and public relations. He returned to his alma mater in 2007 as sports information director. Information about funeral arrangements and a campus memorial service will be shared when available.
