Renewed Focus and Investment in Stat Crew Next Gen Development
CBSi Advanced Media has identified completion of the Stat Crew Next Gen products as a
TOP PRIORITY for the company in 2016. While the development project has faced several challenges since its inception, the new CBSi executive team has taken immediate steps this fall to begin addressing the issues, including:
• Partnering with the NCAA to host "The Future of NCAA Statistics" summit in October
• Commissioning a technical audit of the current Next Gen development in late November
• Conducting focus groups with various end users of the Next Gen scoring software and the data outputs
Additionally, CBSi has committed significant incremental resources to the project going forward. Listed below are our immediate next steps in the New Year:
• Early January - CBSi will receive technical audit findings and recommendations
• Late January - 2016-17 Stat Crew Next Gen Roadmap will be released, with the start of the academic year, August 2016, as a key milestone
We value our relationship with CoSIDA and its membership and are committed to delivering the full and complete suite of Stat Crew Next Gen products. We will continue to provide frequent and informative updates on our progress along the way.
Ongoing Legacy Maintenance Updates
We continue to update legacy software, while we also work on the next gen software.
• Added Substitutions editor, in Game Reports.
• For 4-quarter games, we’ve added "quick" buttons to selected box scores, added the by-period boxscores to the gamebook and HTML. We’ve expanded team percentages section of the boxscore, and we’ve fixed the running score bug in play-by-play. Also note, there is a new
section in the game XML.
