AUSTIN, TEXAS – Senior Callie Beaver of Park University headlines the 2015 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Softball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The Capital One College Division Academic All-America® softball team are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.
 
Beaver was selected as the winner of the Capital One Academic All-America® of the Year award for the College Division softball team.
 
The first team honoree boast a combined G.P.A. of 3.87, while the second team has a combined G.P.A. of 3.81. The overall G.P.A. for this year’s College Division team is 3.84.
 
A senior secondary education major from Webb City, Missouri, Beaver carries a 4.00 G.P.A. Starting all 41 games for the Pirates, the outfielder batted .336 with 45 hits in 134 at-bats. She scored 27 runs while driving in 25. Beaver also lined three doubles and two triples and stole 22 bases in 25 attempts.
 
Beaver is a four-time American Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference honoree and was named to the 2015 AMC All-Conference First Team in helping Park to a 29-14 overall record.
 
Joining Beaver on the first team are four repeat members from the 2014 squad – Brittani McGue of Concordia (Calif.) University, Kasey Trierweiler of Madonna University, Nicole Larson of Menlo College and Jamie Rateliff of Oklahoma City University.
 
McGue, a senior biology major from Modesto, California, boasts a 3.79 G.P.A. Concordia’s top pitcher, McGue posted an 18-6 record with a 1.58 ERA. She fanned 150 in 132.2 innings pitched while walking 59. McGue helped the Eagles to the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament championship and a 50-8 overall record in earning All-GSAC honors. She was a member of the second team in 2014.
 
Also a member of the second team in 2014, Trierweiler is a senior accounting major from Grand Ledge, Michigan, and owns a 3.96 G.P.A. An infielder, Trierweiler helped Madonna to a 37-14-1 overall record and a berth to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. She batted .363 with two doubles, four triples and 17 RBI.
 
Larson, an accounting major from San Martin, California, sports a 3.90 G.P.A. The senior outfielder is making her second appearance on the first team, having earning a spot on the 2014 squad. Larson helped Menlo to an 11-27 record in collecting California Pacific Conference Player of the Year honors. She batted .466 with 30 RBI, 37 runs, six home runs and 10 doubles and also stole 26 bases to break the single-season record.
 
A senior biochemistry major from Mustang, Oklahoma, Rateliff carries a 3.65 G.P.A. The Oklahoma City outfielder is making her third appearance on the team, landing on the second team in 2014 and third team in 2013. A first team All-Sooner Athletic Conference selection, Rateliff batted .390 with 18 doubles, 16 home runs and 57 RBI. She also scored 51 runs and was 7-for-7 in stolen bases.
 
Making up the rest of the first team are Tori Burke of Cardinal Stritch University, Shelby Hobelman of Ashford University, Cassie Wendt of Eastern Oregon University, Brittany Boggs of Vanguard University, Amanda Ferguson of Roosevelt University, Alyssa Keller of the University of Saint Francis (Ind.), and Brittanee Grove of William Penn University.
 
There are two repeat honorees on the second team: Natalie Newell of Bethel (Ind.) College and Brooke Shell of Grace College.
 
A senior elementary education major from Goshen, Indiana, Newell owns a 3.82 G.P.A. and pitched Bethel to a 15-32 record this season. A four-time all-conference selection, she is a three-time Crossroads League Pitcher of the Year honoree. Newell posted a 9-4 record with a 2.58 ERA and 103 strikeouts in 89.2 innings pitched. Newell also made the second team in 2014 and third team in 2013.
 
A second team honoree in 2014, Shell is a senior biology major from Hartford City, Indiana, and sports a 3.63 G.P.A. An outfielder for Grace, Shell earned All-Crossroads League first team honors as she batted .420 with 13 doubles, six triples, three home runs and 34 RBI. She also scored 65 runs and 14 bases in 17 attempts as Grace finished with a 32-27 record.
 
Also making the second team are Hannah Klebesadel of Taylor University, Tori Johnson of  the University of St. Francis (Ill.), Megan Jones of Siena Heights University, Bre Megyesi of Lourdes University, Brittany Stone of Our Lady of the Lake University, Niki Green of St. Ambrose University,  Meghan Luebbert of Concordia (Ore.) University and Madi Francis of Nebraska Wesleyan University.
