The Elite 89 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the finals site for each

of the NCAA's 89
championships. (This year, there were 91 winners due to ties at two championships.)
For the second consecutive year, the NCAA is holding an online voting contest to determine the top "Elite 89" honoree.
This gives fans the chance to vote for their favorite Elite 89 Award winner from the 2014-15 academic year. The contest is promoted via NCAA social media
channels, with the goal to celebrate these high-achieving student-athletes while getting fans excited about supporting their candidates.
