NCAA Champion Magazine: Union College's Eric McDowell On Being an SID

In the upcoming November print and digital edition of NCAA Champion Magazine, Eric McDowell, Union College (N.Y.) Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Information, is featured in an article on the athletic communications profession. See the article here.

The NCAA Champion issue hit the newsstand on October 20, and the Champion staff has showcased McDowell in both a feature piece and video piece. The video will be released in the next few days when Champion makes the magazine's digital version live.

Below is a preview of that McDowell video as he talks about the role of the campus SID.

McDowell served as CoSIDA president during the 2014-15 academic year. He is a member of CoSIDA's Hall of Fame, inducted in 2009. Last year, he was the recipient of CoSIDA's Warren Berg Award, presented annually to a college division member who has made outstanding contributions to the field of college sports information, and who by his or her activities, has brought dignity and prestige to the profession.
