• Allen will talk about crisis communications issues, responses and resolutions surrounding the Mankato football program a few years, involving accusations against the head coach, his subsequent firing and the rehiring with the next two years.
• Blascovich will discuss his experience covering a transgender athlete
• Teuscher will serve as moderator and also will talk about building a crisis communications plan following the death of a student-athlete and the aftermath of that crisis situation
• Stromeier, who received questions from the membership for this call, will speak on reconciling personal feelings about these crisis or unusual issues with the requirements of a job; recognizing how additional short-term stressors manifest themselves and preventing them from becoming long-term problems; and/or how to go about interviewing or otherwise interacting with individuals who have become the subject of a prominent news story when they would rather not be in the spotlight.
